Hue Is She

Hue is she?.. most would say “Black woman” without hesitation..odd because black is not a color.. “Black is actually the absence of color or light. Black is a Value.. is she valuable? Black gives art depth & definition.. yet is she understood? Why are there bars on her face? “Bars” by definition are obstructions that prevent or prohibit.. yet she smiles through everything she has “faced”.. She is strong like her commitment..Her dreads symbolize Growth, wisdom, & devotion to purity amongst other things.. yet seen as unkept or even savage by Society..she simply does not care.. yet the question still remains.. “hue is she?”
